In the Rioja region, the best vineyards grow on clay soils rich in limestone. Clay soils tend to stay cooler and retain water. The mild climate with plenty of rainfall, which is the result of Atlantic and Mediterranean influences, provides an ideal prerequisite for the creation of wines of extraordinarily elegant character.

In 1991, Rioja became the first wine-growing region in Spain to receive the highest degree of Spanish DOCa (Denominación de Origen Calificada), which is the highest category in Spanish wine regulations reserved for regions with above-average grape prices and in particular, strict quality control.

Our production

UNDERLINES THE UNIQUE CHARACTER OF THE RIOJA REGION

The privileged location of the production (almost on the border of the Rioja Alta and Rioja Baja areas) makes it possible to combine vines from different wine-producing plots in their individual and Rioja characteristic style.

A significant part of all company vineyards consists of old vine varieties (more than 35 years old)
with a correspondingly low fertility (only 2.5 kg of grapes from each vine), which is a characteristic feature of Bodegas El Cidacos wines, recognizable especially in the wine categories.

Variety: Tempranillo (100%)
Alcohol content: 13%

Production: careful selection of grapes, fermentation in steel vats immediately after harvest,
without aging in oak barrels.

Organoleptic properties: bright dark cherry color with purple highlights, complex, rich fruity aroma, warm and delicate balanced taste with fine tannins.

Recommended serving temperature: 16-18 ° C

Variety: 80% tempranillo, 20% garnacha tinta
Alcohol content: 13%

Production: 22 days of fermentation and maceration in steel vats, maturing for 1 year in French and American oak barrels,
then 1 year in bottles.

Organoleptic properties: ruby red color with raspberry reflections, fruity aroma with hints of spice, energetic, clear taste, ripe tannins and long fruity aftertaste.


Recommended serving temperature: 18-20 ° C

Bodegas El Cidacos is a modern, technologically advanced company with a comprehensive cycle of wine production of various types. The production capacity of the plant enables the production of 4 million bottles (750 ml) of wine per year. The winery has a large storage capacity, which allows the wine to mature in wooden oak barrels made of French and American oak.
