WINES OF THE BEST VINE VARIETIES

Quality control
Designation Specifications define the definition of the production area, the vine varieties that can be grown, the maximum permitted yields, the wine-growing and aging techniques and other aspects. The Steering Committee operates a strict and effective control system from production to commercialization, both in the quantity and quality of protected wines. To that end, all Rioja wines must undergo analytical and organoleptic tests to determine whether or not the wine qualifies as Denominación de Origen Calificada.
Certified origin
Viticulture in Rioja must be included in the register of the Rioja Control Board. The winery must be located in the area of origin of the wine (Denominación), which is managed by a control board and all equipment must meet the requirements of the board. Bodegas El Cidacos winery is one of the largest in the Rioja region with a production of 3.5 million bottles per year and a volume of over 4 million liters. The production itself is now managed by one of the best winemakers in the Rioja region - Zigor Gómez de Segura Domínguez.
